Positive aspects

One of the few positive aspects regarding the environment that is directly related to the dam construction is that the accumulated sediments in the dam reservoir offers a magnificent register of natural environment changes and especially for the study of human impacts in the industrial age. The reservoir sediments are so accurate for dating because the sedimentation are often uninterrupted and they have little bioturbation and plant grow(Sedláček, 2013). One of the main methods is to analyse the content of heavy metals and organic pollutants in sediment core samples.
